Research background
Our research investigates the translational application of novel DNA modifications. We utilize the highly specific click chemistry reactions to modify cellular DNA in the cell culture but also in the living mouse. Depending on the added structure, these have a variety of downstream functions such as in differential cellular toxicity and molecular diagnostics. Additional topics of interest include the physiology of DNA damage and repair in response to various chemotherapeutic agents, and the pharmacological control of the cell cycle to induce selective cellular toxicity.
